Modern Tron BuddiesFrom with winnings and games played with SqueakyJiki I began rolling the money over to this deck every week. Slowly upgraded to a point where I was satisfied and began to play is over SqueakyJiki. Goal of the deck, play tron, control the game with the planeswalkers, lockout the game with the 'wish-board' packages in the side-board.

3-1 Realized this week that 45 minutes per match is simply not enough in some match-ups and I will likely be going to turns in most of those games. Never had an issue in my first 3 matches, deck kinda runs itself.

Round 1 vs Tron (2-0) Found it easier to get get what I need since I thin faster than a typical tron list. Platinum angel and Witchbane Orb gave me an easy out for his game mindslaver lock.

Round 2 vs Yorion (2-0) I hate these games because they take FOREVER. Tron is favoured because they want incremental value over time and so do I, I just have a earlier clock and can reset the game with Karn.

Round 3 vs Yorion (2-0) Repeat of round 2, easy but LONG games.

Round 4 vs Burn (0-2) The only game where I did not go to turns, over in sub 10 minutes. Lost naturally.

3-1 Nothing changed this week. Came in knowing what decks my opponents were playing so the games went much faster.

Round 1 vs 8-Whack (0-2) Lost fast, lost hard. What is expected.

Round 2 vs Yorion (2-0) Easy games, just took a while, reset Karn game 2 for a faster win.

Round 3 vs Goblins (1-0-1) Should have lost but was able to natural turn 3 tron into turn 4 Platinum Emperion. Then game 2 it went to turns ending in a draw.

Round 4 vs Yorion (2-0) Easy game, dragged out a bit longer than it should have since both me and opponent were tired.

2-2 Thought of changing some things on the current build. Solemn Simulacrum tends to be more of a late game improvement but hurts early game since the ramping only thins the deck and cannot get out when I need it the most which is turns 2-3, so may slot Spellskite back in it's place to help against the early aggression and burn.

Round 1 vs 8-Whack (0-2) Obvious loss, too fast, too aggressive unless I have tron turn 3, land turn 4 into Ugin.

Round 2 vs Boggles (2-0) Hard fought but Ugin made the game easy since they cannot recover from a wrath.

Round 3 vs Burn (1-2) Opp got game 1 and then sided poorly into game 2. Game 3 they corrected the issue and quickly won the match.

Round 4 vs CoCo (2-0) This was a Soul-Sisters list turned toolbox from the Side-Board. Game 1 won with Ugin and incremental value engines. Game 2 won with a Platinum Angel with no answer.

2-2 A little salty on this week since we were playing for a Omnath Promo with a cut to top 4. Played my games and in Round 3 my opponent dropped which gave me a free win. The store saw me not playing, asked where my opp was, said he dropped. They went out of their way to stop ACTIVE play to re-shuffle the pairings. System paired me into 8-Whack. Lost fast. And fucked me out of top 4.

Round 1 vs RDW (2-0) Games went fast, able to K-TGC for Dragon's Claw both games, able to out tempo them.

Round 2 vs Living End (0-2) Tried to play to my outs with Lantern, didn't see it in any game.

Round 3 vs 8-Whack (1-2) My original opp dropped which caused store to re-pair me against 8-Whack, worst matchup. Lost fast.

Round 4 vs RU-Combo (2-1) Weird combo deck. Played into main-board land hate, played a slower game and grind out the opponent post sideboard for yard hate.

2-2 Played some good games this week against some bad match-ups. Not too upset about those pairings, played well.

Round 1 vs 8-Whack (2-1) Having Platinum Angel in the main along with Inscribed Tablet ensured I always had a turn 3 "I cannot lose" condition to buy time. I out value them post turn 4.

Round 2 vs Elementals (0-2) With Yorion being banned, elementals are more constant in value over long term plays. Alpine Moon and Blood Moon is too hard to fight through.

Round 3 vs Tron (2-0) My version of Tron is designed for longer games with higher value engines. Ugin stops Wurmcoils, I can rush KTGC to lock them off Maps.

Round 4 vs Amulet-Titan (0-2) Awful matchup overall, I am a turn 3 value clock and titan is a turn 3 game ender.

2-2 Played some off meta decks this week which was cool.

Round 1 vs 8-Rack (2-0) Discard aggression does not hurt this particular tron list to much since my value of Planeswalkers and not creatures that can be sacked or discarded.

Round 2 vs 8-Whack (1-2) Lost, nothing shocking.

Round 3 vs Burn (0-2) Lost, nothing shocking.

Round 4 vs Bant Flicker (2-0) Was able to turn 3 a Torper Orb both games for a fast win.

So much hammer-time this weekend.

Round 1 vs Charbeltcher (1-2) Deck is too fast, the only was I was able to win was getting off an early KarnTGC or Nicol Bolas to have them discard.

Round 2 Jeskai (2-1) Fight through 12 counterspells when your curve is 7-8 mana feels bad, though I did get to win with Nicol Bolas.

Round 3 Bye

Round 4 vs Hammer-time (2-1) I hate this kid, we went to time. Game 1 got me with infect, game 2 I had too much value on board for him to fight through, game 3 had him with a Bolas and Ugin on board.
