PlarnA hobby I have had since high-school, since I was such a cool kid, was crochet. For a long time I crochet sweaters, hats, scarves, blankets. Anything I could make with a hook and wool, I tried to make at least once or twice depending on my number of failed attempts. One thing my mother turned me onto back in the bright age of 2010 was PLARN. Plastic grocery bags turned into crochet material to make similar items. But the main use of plarn was to be used for bed mats to give to the homeless community. Since then I have been on and off with using plarn to make door mats, rugs, and truck-bed liners, even a couple camping rolls to replace uncomfortable tent liners. Fold the bag in half longways, so the handles are together.

Do this once or twice more, depending on how large you want the 'yarn' to be, the bag will be about an inch or two wide.

Cut off the handles and the seam along the bottom with the scissors.

Now fold this strip in half short-ways, so it’s half the length and cut, repeat this step for all sections cut 2 more times. You should be left with a collection of plastic rings.

Using a Cow-hitch, tie all the rings together in a row. The knots do not have to be tight, just tight enough that they won't come apart when crocheting. And try not to stretch the plastic when doing so.
